Marisa LaRuffa is an NYC-based Italian-Filipina-Spanish-German artist, performer, and collaborator.
Marisa (she/her) was born a multicultural fish-out-of-water in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Having graduated cum laude from NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway (BFA in Drama: Musical Theatre) and receiving Intimacy training from Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE), she now works consistently as a performer and intimacy professional. She lives to play and her range is expansive, working between Shakespeare, musical theater, immersive/interactive theater, plays, and film/television. After performing with Emit Theatre since 2020, she was named their Artist Advocate, a position which bridges the gap between performers and administration and ensures diversity, equity and inclusion in the artistic workspace.​Marisa employs her empathic nature as her greatest strength. As a mixed ethnicity, pansexual, and complex woman, she continues to advocate for not only the necessary uplift, but the celebration of LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC/Global Majority stories/storytellers. She is a proud member of Ring of Keys and is AEA Eligible.

Marisa was nominated for Best Supporting Performer as Ophelia in Shakespeare in the Woods Vermont 2023 Summer Production of Hamlet. Both shows were nominated for best production and ensemble.
