Marisa LaRuffa is an NYC-based Italian-Filipina-Spanish-German artist, performer, and collaborator.
Marisa (she/her) was born a multicultural fish-out-of-water in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Having graduated cum laude from NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway (BFA in Drama: Musical Theatre) and receiving Intimacy training from Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE), she now works consistently as a performer, educator and intimacy professional.
She lives to play and her range is expansive, working between Shakespeare, musical theater, immersive/interactive theater, plays, and film/television. After performing with Emit Theatre since 2020, she was named their Artist Advocate, a position which bridges the gap between performers and administration and ensures diversity, equity and inclusion in the artistic workspace.
Marisa employs her empathic nature as her greatest strength. As a mixed ethnicity, pansexual, and complex woman, she continues to advocate for not only the necessary uplift, but the celebration of LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC/Global Majority stories/storytellers. She is a proud member of Ring of Keys and is AEA Eligible.
