
Marisa LaRuffa is an NYC-based, American-Italian-Filipina-German artist, performer, and collaborator.
Marisa (she/her) popped out with a fire around her head in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Having graduated cum laude from NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway (BFA in Drama: Musical Theatre) and receiving Intimacy training from Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE), she now works consistently as a performer, educator and intimacy professional.
Marisa's expansive range of creating complex characters plays between genres: theater, musicals, dance, Shakespeare, immersive/interactive, and film/television. After performing with Emit Theatre since 2020, she was named their Artist Advocate, a position which bridges the gap between performers and administration and ensures diversity, equity and inclusion in the artistic workspace.
Marisa continues to advocate for not only the necessary uplift, but the celebration of LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC/Global Majority stories/storytellers. She is a proud member of Ring of Keys and the Actor's Equity Association.
