

Marisa LaRuffa is an NYC-based Italian-Filipina-Spanish-German actor, singer, dancer and devisor.
Marisa (she/her) was born a multicultural fish-out-of-water in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Having graduated cum laude from NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway (BFA in Drama: Musical Theatre), she now works as a professional performer and artist as well as teacher and director at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, NY. She is currently taking classes with Theatrical Intimacy Education (founded by Chelsea Pace) to become an intimacy director.
Marisa employs her empathic nature as her greatest strength. As a mixed ethnicity, pansexual, and complex woman, she continues to advocate for not only the necessary uplift, but the celebration of LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC/Global Majority stories/storytellers. She is a proud member of Ring of Keys, and a company member with Emit Theatre.


Upcoming: Waves of Wonder with Emit Theatre
Marisa is a devisor and performer in this brand new TYA production. "Waves of Wonder is an interactive play for young audiences that takes students on a journey to help save their town's waterfront from harmful development. Along the way, they encounter mythical creatures who teach them about the importance of conservation and community. Devised by the company, it features traditional Afro-Caribbean, Nigerian, Chinese, Scottish, and Gullah mythology."
The show just had a workshop Production in September 2023, and will open in Spring 2024 in New York!
